A.K.A. Shad Sennott, one of General Zader's most successful soldiers to date. Shad Sennott was removed from Headmaster Donald Moore's orphanage at an early age, separating him from his young brother and sister. He was taken to NEST and, there amongst its secret labs, has been genetically as well as technologically enhanced. He possesses great physical strength and agility as well as an extremely high resistance to pain. These traits are common to all of the NUSOL "super soldiers." Also, as a result of Zader's "conditioning" program, Shad has had his emotional capability removed from his conscious mind. He cannot feel. All his emotional experiences are constantly collected and stored in an implanted device called an Emotive Inhibitor or E.I. chip. Through this chip, Zader is able to eliminate any emotional responses, which would normally affect a soldier in a combat situation. As a result, a NUSOL soldier is potentially the perfect killing machine, devoid of remorse or attacks of conscience. He is cold, efficient, and obedient. When Shad has his E.I. chip accidentally removed, he begins to re-experience his human emotions, causing him to be wracked by seizure-like episodes that incapacitate him and launch him on a journey of self-discovery. The transition from remorseless killing machine to ordinary human is an exceedingly difficult and painful one for him. When Shad awakens to the full extent of Zader's inhuman treatment of him and learns that numerous other orphans are still suffering, he vows to destroy Zader and free the rest of his minions. |

A.K.A Shane Sennott. Shad's older brother, (a fact not known by Shad), Shane Sennott was also removed from his orphanage at an early age. Unlike Shad, Shane remains in bondage to Zader because of his own implanted E.I. chip. He is an emotionless killer willing to obey Zader's every command. In a cruel twist of fate, Zader orders Shane to kill Shad when one of the NUSOL experiments goes awry. As soon as this assassination attempt is complete, Zader returns Shane to the NEST facility and continues to use him as an experimental pawn. However, when Shad resurfaces alive in the hands of the San Francisco mafia, Zader reinstates Shane as the soldier in charge of finishing off his brother once and for all. But in spite of all Zader's soul-washing attempts, something of the old Shane Sennott remains deep inside him. Something that keeps him from completing his task. So, once again, Shane fails to kill his brother, enraging Zader. Realizing that a showdown with Shad is imminent, Zader has Shane physically mutated into a hideous monster using "The Chair", one of the General's more nefarious inventions from the NUSOL experiments. At the climax of the story, Shad is headed for a direct confrontation, with his own brother Shane. But will Zader have finally eliminated the remains of Shane's compassion? Will Shane finally succeed in killing his own flesh and blood? |

With this in mind, he has embarked on a carefully executed plan to slowly assume his role as master of humanity. Zader started out as a well-educated scientist who decided that the military could provide him with the quickest access to power. He has risen fast to attain the rank of General. Along the way he also developed his contacts in Government, expanded his influence, and used his scientific expertise to gain control of the army's National Elite Soldier Training Program, known as N.E.S.T., on a secret island base outside of San Francisco. He has convinced his superiors to sanction limited human experimentation in order to create a platoon of "Super Soldiers." Unbeknownst to the military establishment, Zader has gone far beyond the use of stringent physical training and mild performance enhancing drugs described in the program's dossier. The program, codenamed NUSOL, is in reality a cover for Zader's over-arching plan to enslave humanity. Using funding and materials unwittingly supplied by the army, Zader has developed entirely new technologies that enable him to manipulate and virtually re-create his human subjects at the genetic level and beyond. He has in fact begun to tap into the forces of creation itself! In order to gain a steady supply of subjects for his soul-washing experiments, Zader has been acquiring orphans at a young age from a local orphanage run by Headmaster Donald Moore, who actually works for Zader.A |

STARK RAVEN: 'THE MOVIE': A 90 minute original movie based on the comic books created and written by Ken Smith.
Unknown to the citizens of the city, there is a secret government facility called NEST operating on an island in San Francisco bay. The NEST installation is the mysterious domain of one, General Zader. From his island fortress, General Zader is secretly plotting to take over the world and experimenting on hapless soldiers with mind-controlling and soul-altering technology. A special computer chip implanted on the brain stem, turns each soldier into an emotionless, ruthless, killing machine ready to do Zader's bidding. But all of Zader's devious plans begin to unravel when one of his experimental soldiers is left for dead and washes up on the shores of a San Francisco beach.
That soldier, Shad Sennott, is found by a local mafia boss's daughter and taken to a former NEST scientist, now living undergroun, who operates on him. The scientist removes Shad's chip which inadvertantly leads to his awakening from a technologically-induced stupor that has lasted for 20 years. Awakening from the soul-washing chip, causes Shad to be driven to the brink of madness. Through this haze of pain and confusion, Shad embarks on a journey of self-discovery and what he finds out enrages him: General Zader has used him and countless others as fodder for his own personal ambitions. He has destroyed the lives of hundreds in order to puruse his evil, selfish aims. Emboldened by this knowledge, but addled by madness, Shad vows to destroy the NEST program and assassinate the evil Generaol who stole his life from him.
When General Zader learns that Shad is still alive and plotting his ruin, he launches a war to kill Shad and destroy all those who are assisting him in his quest. Namely, Carmine Gambine, a local crime boss who is resisting Zader's efforts to take over the mafia by killing them off with some of his most evil creations: ghostly beings called Death Judges and Death Shadows. These half-human, half-discarnate entities are unstoppable death-dealing minions and, working together, they are systematically decimating the ranks of the mafia. Only one man has proven he can kill the Death Judges and Death Shadows: Shad Sennott.
But time is running out. It won't take long for Zader to learn the location of Carmine's secret hideout or find out the whereabouts of the rogue soldier Shad Sennott. The Death Judges are combing the city and the Death Shadows are emotionlessly awaiting the order to kill. Zader's noose is tightening, but what he's not counting on is the raw, mind-numbing power of Shad's newly-born alter ego: Stark Raven. Now half-mad and driven by rage, Stark Raven may be the weapon that finally leads Zader to taste the fear he himself has dealt out for so long.
'Stark Raven - The Movie' is an action-packed animated feature film, created and developed by Ken Smith, written by Jono Howard, produced by Steve Walsh, and directed by Herve Bedard. Now in pre-production, it will be delivered in the Fall of 2004.
